For the past eight years, we have been running a prayer exchange activity for children and teenagers from the Portuguese and Spanish-speaking worlds. Our partner Viva from Latin America has joined us and with them the Spanish-speaking children. This year, 2024, we want to include children from English-speaking countries.
You sign up a group of children or teenagers to pray during the month of June. We, from Rede Mãos Dadas and Viva Latin America, will contact our partners to identify a group that will exchange information with your group. Your group’s requests will be received by another group, and that group’s requests will be received in prayer by your group. After registration, everything is done via WhatsApp and it is common for each group to share photos and videos with the other group. This sharing really motivates children to understand the life context of the children they will be praying for.
In the prayer exchange, we ask that the children and adolescents pray for others facing different situations of vulnerability.
What do they have to gain with this? The practice of intercession, discovering problems around the world and the satisfaction of being part of the solution through their faith that Christ is willing and powerful to change circumstances. Connecting with other children in a distant place brings them great enthusiasm.
The steps for the exchange
To take part in the exchange, each educator or children’s leader must form an intercession group and get to know their prayer requests. The prayer requests you receive will be shared with other children from somewhere “far away”. Your group of children will also receive prayer requests and participate by praying.

1. Interview your group of children and find out how they are doing, what they are going through, what are their requests for prayer;
2. Decide which requests you want to send to us and then go to this LINK to fill out our form;
3. If it’s possible and practical, you can record a video of your children making their prayer requests by themselves. These videos will not be published anywhere. They will just be shown to the group that will pray for you;
4. Rede Mãos Dadas will connect you via WhatsApp with the other children’s leader where you will exchange the children’s prayer requests;
5. As soon as you receive the requests from the children for whom your group will be interceding, lead your group of children in prayer.
